Blue Hole
Thanks to a friend we found out about the Blue Hole last year, I have to say it's probably the coldest water in Oklahoma that we've found but it's so much fun and soooo refreashing on these hot 100 degree days!!! We take Hwy 20 toward Pryor then head to Salina and the Blue Hole is seven miles east of Salina on Kenwood Road. It's only $5 per carload to get in and they don't allow alcohol, drugs, etc. so it's a family friendly place BUT I had never been on the weekend and it's VERY busy! If you can sneak away on a weekday it's not that busy. I'm hoping to head back out to the Blue Hole this summer with our homeschool group and another time with some more friends!
This time we were enjoying our swim and visiting with our friends Matt and Sarah and all of the sudden Kevin says, "We gotta get out right now and leave!" I'm thinking he's crazy because we had only been swimming for about 1 hour and I really wanted to stay for longer, then he tells me to look at the sky....it was turning black, a storm was headed our way. So we all get out and get in the suburban and leave and as soon as we get on the road the heavens open up and it is a MAJOR downpour! We decide to stop at a place called Pig N Out in Salina...funny name but REALLY yummy food and it was so unbelievably cheap too! Kevin and Matt were kind enough to get out in the rain and order for us and then stand around and wait while our order is being prepared.

Rattlesnake in my room!!!!
Early this morning at 4am Kylan ran into our room shouting, "there's a rattlesnake in my room!!!!", we jumped out of bed and ran upstairs and Kevin tried to kill it with a shovel but didn't succeed because it was a RUBBER snake!!! Just waking up and with our adrenaline pumping it looked REAL! We made him throw that one away!!
Now that I'm looking at this snake you can totally tell it's a fake snake but being all bleary eyed at 4am it was as real as it gets! LOL!!!

Relay for Life
The dance team that Kenzie dances with was asked to dance at the Relay for Life at Union practice field and they were on a teeny, tiny stage and ran into each other and Kenzie got smacked in the face but they really had fun and it was for a great cause.

Kenzie had a sleepover for her 10th bday and we took them swimming and then the next morning we had family over to help her celebrate her special day! She receive a lot of crafts projects and art supplies...hmmm does that tell you something about her?? She must take after her mommy and I LOVE it!!! I just can't believe that she's already 10!!! It seems like just last year we were picking her up at the LAX airport.Thursday, June 17, 2010

Miss Oklahoma pageant
Makenzie was asked to be an Oklahoma Star in the Miss Oklahoma pageant this year by Miss Collinsville, Taylor Upson, and she's been having such a great time. She got to attend a Red Carpet Event, and all 3 preliminary nights, had a special luncheon with the contestants and tomorrow she will go to a luncheon with Miss Oklahoma, Taylor Treat. This is such a great program for young ladies and they awarded over $4 million in scholarships this year!!!
The big night and the finale is going to be on Saturday so we will have lots more pics to post then.

I'm back ...
Oh boy I've really missed blogging but was so sick for several weeks and could hardly take care of myself so thought I better let the blogging go until I was better. All I have to say about Rock Mountain Spotted Fever is USE Deep Woods OFF, not just plain bug spray, so the ticks don't infect you...horrible experience but I'm alive to warn others!
