Matthew Stevenson is a troubled kid from a broken home. When he vandalizes the local church to get back at his parents, Matthew has to repair the damage to the church to avoid criminal charges. While working at the church, he meets Ernest, an accomplished wood carver who created the intricate woodwork decoration that Matthew destroyed. Ernest has become something of a hermit, but reluctantly comes out of reclusion to help repair the church. Now Ernest and Matthew must work together to preserve the church's beautiful antiquity, and along the way, they also manage to restore their faith in God and in life.

My Opinion
I'm always on the look out for fun family movies, so I was really excited to have the opportunity to review The Woodcarver starring John Ratzenberger. At the start of the movie you see another kid doing wrong things and it made me wonder why? Why do kids turn out this way? Well, the movies continues on and you see some of his home life and the way he is treated. This was a little too much for my son, he can not stand to see others mistreated and was almost in tears watching it. The movie also talks about WWJD? What would Jesus do? My kids are now starting to ask that about everything and I LOVE it, it has cut down on their fighting a lot. Anyway, this is an uplifting movie with a wonderful message and I recommend it for your personal DVD library, especially if you want good family movies.

I would like it for my entire family to see it. First I'd start here with my daughter and gradnson then pass it on to my sister. I think it sounds like a movie we all would love and I like that it will teach our kids something watching it
