THE STAR MOVIE
In Sony Pictures Animation's The Star, a small but brave donkey named Bo yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free, and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a lovable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave, a dove with lofty aspirations. Along with three wisecracking camels and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become unlikely heroes in the greatest story ever told – the first Christmas.

Sharing from my heart:
Many people have heard the Nativity story but have you ever heard it from the animals point of view? I have a feeling this will be a huge hit with children and adults this holiday season. The characters are adorable, lovable, fun and will easily capture your heart. I was a little nervous that the animals might take over the story and take away from the story of Jesus's birth but that was not the case. The director was Tim Reckart and when he was interviewed he said, “The goal was to create characters that were based on clues we have in the Bible that also gives each character an opportunity to have an arc.”
Reckart did take some creative liberties because it's an animated film but he was very cognitive of the Biblical story and stuck with it. After watching The Star I feel it really does portray the true meaning of Christmas in a clever way that's endearing and relatable to children.
Opening in theaters today November 17th, 2017 you won't want to miss this one. Take your children or grandchildren and enjoy a PG movie that's sure to become a classic must see Christmas film.
I was impressed with the all star cast and thought I'd share some of those famous names so you can pick them out as you're watching the movie. I was driving myself crazy trying to place several of the voices so here's a cheat sheet for you.
